Peter calls the church to be unified: Unified with God through Jesus, unified with others in the faith, and unified within ourselves with our purpose.

Unified with God through Jesus – vs. 3-9, 13-21

1. God is holy and we are not

2. Only through Jesus dying for us can we be made holy – precious blood

3. We put our faith and hope in what Jesus had done, not in what we have done

4. Trials help prove and strengthen our faith

5. So, be holy

   a.Do not conform to the evil desires

   b.Be made holy

   c.Walk in holiness

Unified with others in the faith – vs 22-25

1. Purify ourselves by obeying the truth

2. Have sincere love for one another

3. Love deeply – from the heart

4. This is what will last

Unified within ourselves with our purpose – vs. 2:1-3

1. Rid our lives of all malice and deceit

2. Be real – no hypocrisy, envy, or slander

3. Crave pure spiritual milk

4. Grow up in our salvation – it is good!
